Kannatlikkus

Tõesti, Jumal on koos kannatlikega.”

Kannatlikkus jaguneb kolme kategooriasse:

(Tõesti, Jumalale me kuulume ja Tema juurde pöördume me tagasi.)

Patience

“O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” (2:153)
Dear brothers and sisters in faith,
Indeed, Allah the Almighty has created us and put us on this earth so as to try us or to test us which of us does good deeds during difficult times and afflictions and doesn’t go against Allah and doesn’t disbelieve in Him. And to test which of us does bad deeds and thereby loses both this world and the next. He has guided us to the path of salvation and that is seeking help through patience and prayer. He has given good tidings to the patient ones by saying: “Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” “Being with” mentioned in the verse means being together by help and protection. It means that Allah will help and protect them.
There are three categories of patience:

1) The first kind of patience is the patience of doing the obligatory acts such as having patience to spend some time in order to obtain the minimum required religious knowledge and this is something that is obligatory on every Muslim male and female.

2) The second type of patience is having patience in refraining from that which Allah has forbidden for us and it means stopping ourselves from the forbidden, following and fulfilling thereby the command of Allah the Almighty. Of this is that a man must refrain from looking at that which Allah has forbidden of the women and the same is obligatory upon a woman. Of this is that a person who is tested with poverty, must refrain from stealing even if his situation is difficult and even if his wife asks him to do it because the Messenger of Allah (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) has said: “There is no obedience to a creature in disobeying the Creator.”

3) The third type of patience is having patience during the hard times, afflictions and catastrophes. Whoever is hit with an affliction should say: “Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return.” He should not go against Allah become angry. The prophet (salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam) has advised some of his companions by saying: “Do not become angry.” Those who curse at Allah and turn against Him, will lose themselves.

Dear brothers and sisters,
the Messenger of Allah has said: «The strong man is not one who is good at wrestling, but the strong man is one who controls himself in a fit of rage.» It means that a strong person is not the one who whenever someone harms him he rushes to strike people and harm them. This kind of a person is in fact a weak one as his own self overcomes him and he is unable to control it. The strong person is the one who controls himself while he is angry.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Have patience during the hard times and know, that the messenger of Allah has said: „He whom Allah intends good, He makes him to suffer from some affliction». It means that He puts him through a trial to wipe off some of his sins and to raise his levels.
Oh Allah, make us of those who are pious and patient, oh our Lord!
